![]() * If you have Office 2016 Home and Student one-time payment license then NO you cannot install on a chromebook using that license. * if you have an Office 365 Personal subscription it allows you to install on 1 of each of the 3 classes of computer. In 2013 MS "improved" it to allow install on only 1 computer per license. This is the original one-time payment type of license. The other generic Marketing name MS uses is "Office 2016". When you use the Office 365 subscription to activate Office on a tablet or smartphone it enables additional functions. But they are free, so they are dumbed down. You can install "free" copies of Office applications on tablets or smartphones. Another feature of Office 365 subscriptions is that they allow you to install on 3 classes of computer PC/Laptop/Mac class, PLUS (keyboardless) Tablet PLUS Smartphone. The programs in the bundle are part of the "Office 2016" version which causes confusion. One of the key features for your question is that it is a you-keep-paying-forever-so-MS-can-get-richer "Subscription" type license. "Office 365" is a generic marketing name for many different bundles of programs and features. Sorry, you have fallen into the confusion that is MS marketing. ![]()
